Summary

Supporting the region to adapt, innovate and address market demands for sustainable food production.

This project includes a climate action element resulting in the delivery of Greenhouse Gas farm surveys, Community and Stakeholder engagement events to support the region to adapt, innovate and address market demands for sustainable food production and, surveying of knowledge on climate change and adoption of new tools and strategies.

A SSS (Super Sweet Sudan) summer forage trial has also been implemented establishing at least 30ha per year. This forage is designed to fill the feed gap, and provide consistent ground cover, mitigating effects of climate change and improving soil health.

 

Outcome

Year One

  • Carbon Offset Funding for On-Farm Revegetation Workshop

  • Development of SSS (Super Sweet Sudan) trial and monitoring regime

  • 50 hectares of SSS (Super Sweet Sudan) seeded by landholder and monitored (results from Wendy Bradshaw Montitoring)
