New Southern Incentives Grants COMING SOON

The Gillamii Centre Inc. has been told another round of Southern Incentive Grants is soon to be announced through South Coast NRM Inc.
This program has had a great response from landholders in this area through previous rounds and from contact with landholders throughout the past year will be well received again!

Specific activities covered through the new round are yet to be announced, but will be targeting activities linked to preventing and halting wind erosion.
This could include revegetation plantings for shelter belts and sowing of perennial pastures for paddocks prone to erosion from wind.

Regional Capacity Engagement Project Wrapped Up

Regional Capacity Engagement Project Wrapped Up

The Capacity Engagement Project which Megan has been working on since November 2008 has come to an end. The project was funded through South Coast NRM Inc and aimed to increase the involvement and understanding of sectors of the community not previously involved in NRM. A program of 16 activities was run throughout the Shires of Cranbrook, Broomehill/Tambellup and Gnowangerup on various topics of interest from Sustainable Agriculture to permaculture.

Highlights of the project includes the Gillamii Centre receiving more funding for two new projects across the Gillamii Area, the updating of the Gillamii Centre Inc website (soon to be launched), updates to the Cranbrook Federation Wildflower Walk and a Biodiversity themed booklet focussing on local examples for primary schools.
